PlanTechtor releases Feb 27th 2019!

We have a brand new trailer to share today. It highlights the improved art style, and it announces the release date of Feb 27th 2019. Oh yeah, and PlanTechtor also supports Windows Mixed Reality now! Along with the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.

What a difference 2 years makes

It’s hard to believe it’s been 2 years that I have been working on PlanTechtor. Actually, it’s been exactly 2 years. A facebook memory post reminded me of that fact. It made me want to dig up some of the first versions and do a side by side. So, here it is. The top image is a little shooting gallery that I spent a lot of time in. I would work on the weapons trying to get them to feel just right. The bottom image is the game as it is today. I’ts not 100% finished, but it’s getting really close. A lot has changed, but, as you can see, the core mechanics and systems have pretty much remained intact. I credit that to lots of early play testing and focus testing.

** I say 2 years, but I was working on PlanTechtor only part time for those 2 years. I still had my day job and so I only worked on PlanTechtor on Saturdays, Sundays, and some weekday evenings. I keep track of my hours worked though, and I logged 1,862 hours; which is almost 1 year of a full time schedule. So, have I really worked on PlanTechtor for 1 year or 2 years?

** You will notice the bow and pistol in the top screen shot appear to not have changed in 2 years. That isn’t actually the case. Sadly, I was unable to dig up those old assets and so the top screenshot has new assets in it.
